Day 1: Arrive Nairobi, Kenya

Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Splendours of Africa Tours representative will be at-hand to meet/greet and welcome you to Nairobi and transfer to the hotel. A pre-departure private/group meeting will be held to get to know your tour-leader and the rest of the group before the trip commencement. Day 2. Nairobi to Lake Naivasha

Depart for Lake Naivasha via the Great Rift Valley view point for the panoramic and breathtaking views. Drive towards Lake Naivasha passing through tea and coffee plantations on the way to arrive at Hells Gate National Pak for an adventure walking safari. Proceed to your hotel for lunch, afternoon at leisure, evening boat ride to Crescent Island, watch hippos, crocodile, birds and local fishermen. Day 3. Crater Lake Walk/ Birdwatchers Delight!

After breakfast at 8.00am, proceed to Crater Lake tour at the edge of Lake Naivasha, passing through flowers plantation grown for export market. The Crater Lake was formed by volcanic activity; it’s an ideal place for an adventurous walking safari and sees lots of giraffes and varieties of antelope. The Crater Lake has large resident bird population including the Ibis, Lovebirds, Fish Eagle and Hoopoe, as well as the Black and White Colobus monkey. You could sit back at the campsite bar and enjoy a cold drink and a game of pool or participate in some optional activities, like cycling around Hells Gate, or hire a small power boat for a fishing expedition in the lake. Day 4. Lake Naivasha - Lake Nakuru Park/ Ornithological Paradise!

Depart for Lake Nakuru National Park world famous and home to possibly a million pink Flamingos and over 500 other species of birds, both migratory and local. Lake Nakuru Park is a bird watchers paradise. Game viewing drive in the park until evening. Lunch, dinner and overnight-stay at Lake Nakuru Lodge | Sopa Lodge | similar. Meals plan: BLD.

Lake Nakuru National Park which is referred as the "the greatest ornithological spectacle in the world" with both lesser and the Greater Flamingoes sometimes exceeding 1.5 million individuals. The alkaline habitat supports thousands of resident and migratory waterfowl. The alkaline lake, acacia woodland, grassland, rivers and inlets hold incredible bird spectacle on the planet with over the 500 species recorded.

 
Day 5: Lake Nakuru Park -Lakes Bogoria /Baringo

Breakfasts, then morning game drive in the park as you proceed to Lake Baringo which is famous for abundant birdlife. More than 500 of bird species have been sighted (Bird watchers paradise). The lake also contains crocodile and hippo. Before you reach Baringo, you will stop at Lake Bogoria which popular for its hot, warm and cold geyser springs which were formed due to volcanic activities. Day 6: Lake Baringo - Tea Plantations Tour

Depart after breakfast for Kericho which got its name from the Maasai chief Ole Kericho, who was killed by the Gusii people in the 18th century. Kericho is the tea capital of western Kenya. Kenya is the world's 3rd largest tea exporter (after India and Sri Lanka), while tea accounts for 20-30% of the country’s export income. The town is surrounded by acres of rolling green tea plantations. Go for an adventure tea plantation walking tour where you are guided around tea plantation and given information on all facets of tea growing and picking. Day 7: Lake Victoria Region

Depart after breakfast to the Lake-side City of Kisumu which is the third largest in Kenya. Kisumu is an important port on the shore of Lake Victoria the third largest freshwater lake in the world. The group will have time to walk along the shore of the lake and sample local food, such as Fish Choma (roasted fish-which is the main food), Nyama Choma (roasted meat), and Kuku Choma (roasted chicken). Have a boat ride at Dunga beach and interact with local fishermen and visit nearby Ndere Island for birdwatchers-delight and different species of Antelopes. Every unique form of attraction, from lush green highlands, tropical rain forests to massive water bodies, wildlife, sport and adventure; all are to be found in this region. It’s also home to the world second largest fresh water lake and the legendary source of the River Nile, Lake Victoria. In Western Kenya, mythology and history live and breathe in sacred sites and lively traditional festivals. Lake Victoria waters are filled with shimmering shoals of tropical fish, including the massive Nile Perch, harvested at night by lantern light. The green shores and island are alive with birds and monkeys; Hippo and Crocodile wallow in the shallows. The air rings with the haunting cry of the Fish Eagle.

 
Day 8: Kisumu City - Ferry across Lake Victoria

Depart after breakfast for Kit-Mikayi (stone of the first wife of Luo tribe) in Seme. Learn the history and the sacred attachment of this rock as regards the Luo tribe. Proceed to Akala market, meet and interact with the locals selling their wares, and then later proceed to Luanda K’Otieno Beach to board a scheduled onward ferry to Mbita Point. On arrival to Mbita, transfer to Lake Victoria Safari Village, the beautiful lodge that blends the wonders of Lake Victoria. Freshen-up, then followed by a small hike to the hill next to the cottage to have a glance at the Islands around the Lake before settling for dinner and overnight at Lake Victoria Lodge | or similar. Day 9: Rusinga Island Tour

Early breakfast then departs for fishing-trip using traditional built boats to the nearby Island. In the afternoon visit the Rusinga Island with a visit to Tom Mboya Mausoleum. You’re your picnic lunch, and then trek to Ligongo Hills for a panoramic view of the Kavirondo Gulf before you drive back to Lake Victoria Safari Lodge | or similar for dinner and overnight. Day 10: Ruma Nationa Park | Kendu Bay

Early breakfast then proceed to the only known home of the endangered Roan Antelopes at Ruma National Park. The park was named by one Kenya’s most powerful wizards, the much feared Gor Mahia who lived nearby. Gor Mahia, who had 22 wives and several children, was a friend to the legendary Maasai leader, Lenana, with whom he changed gifts. A visit of the shrine is believed to carry blessings. The Park offers rewarding opportunity to watch wildlife and more than 400 birds’ species in their natural habitats. The major attractions here includes Roan Antelope, black Rhino, Buffalo, Hyena,giraffe,Jackson Lelwel hartebeest, Impala, Bohor Reedbuck, Servo Cat, Honey Badgers, monkeys etc.

Proceed to the picturesque village of Kendu Bay -Kamser Seka for lunch. One can’t appreciate the richness and broadness of the Luo cultural heritage just from being there once. So with the concept of Home stays, tourists can get to experience how locals live, operate and relate to each other and at the same time learning from them and vice versa in real life situations. Day 11: Kendu Bay | Traditional Dancers!

After breakfast at 08.00am, visit the local school to present learning materials. Later proceed to Hydro power plant tour at Odino Kusa power station. Back for lunch and entertained by our local Traditional Dancers. This is your chance to experience the ‘Real and Authentic African Life’. Feel free to wander amongst the villagers and try to strike up a conversation with the locals and enjoy their hospitality. Enjoy a home-made African local-meal and see how the Luo tribesmen live. Day 12: Masai Mara National Game Reserve

Depart after breakfast to Masai Mara via Kisii and Migori townships. Visit Tabaka Soap stone industry for souvenirs carvings. Have lunch in Migori town, and then proceed to Masai Mara National Reserve, the Crown Jewel of Africa forever to be associated with vast numbers of greatest wildlife experience world over! Days 13 -14: Masai Mara Game Reserve | Unmatched Wildlife

Spend two full days exploring the open savanna, woodlands and tree-fringed rivers of the Masai Mara, with plenty of predators-animal sightings: leopards that retrieve kills from acacia branches high above, or herd of lion can hold you hostage as they use the vehicle shadow to escape midday heat. Game viewing is never dull in the Mara, especially when the dramatic, annual Great Migration unfolds. Keep your eyes trained for elephant, zebra and lion sightings as well as a variety of gazelle species. Amid stunning scenery and inspiring wildlife, see Maasai tribesmen traverse the plains or herd goats and cattle. Day 15: Depart, Nairobi
After breakfast, game drives en-route to Nairobi and spends the afternoon at leisure in a comfortable day room.
